I was looking for a West Highland Puppy. I contact multiple sellers on the oodle site and each had very recently moved from the location on their profile across the country. I texted and emailed with each and decided on a seller in Montana. Once I agreeded to purchase the dog it got really obvious that this was a scam. She actually told me that the they could be delivered within 6 hours and that she was going to the airport now.

**RED FLAG: All animals that are going to be on a flight MUST have a health check done within the last 30 days by a verternarian WITH the personal information of either the person flying with them or who is picking them up. (I know this now because I bought a real puppy from an actual breeder who shipped him from Kentucky!)**

Then I received a call from the shipping company saying that they had sent me an email with instructions on how to pay for the puppy and then they hung up. I check my email & I had received a message 3 minutes before their call. It had instructions on sending money to Cameroon through Western Union. I immediately got texts from the seller saying that she was leaving the dogs and that I should tell WU that I was sending the money to a sick friend to save on fees. Then another text within seconds asking me how long it would take.

**Red Flag: real sellers usually accept PayPal or other methods that offer some protection for the purchaser. Plus a real company does tell you to lie!**

Over the next thirty minutes I was bombarded with calls from the shipper (who couldn't answer any questions about the carrier the puppies were going to fly with or the route they would take) and texts from the seller telling me to hurry or I wouldn't get the dogs on the flight. Eventually the shipper hung up on me and started to text me too (never had a business text me unless it was automated). When I asked for a pictures of the puppies in their crate ready to go, I was told they don't do that. I asked the seller to call me to make arrangements and was told she had been in an accident 2 months ago that left her deaf.

After refusing to pay through WU I was told the dogs would be taken home and sold to someone who called earlier in the day. I said fine and wished them well. At 12:46am I recievd a text telling me that the puppies were at the shipper waiting to go to the new family but if I sent 1/2 of the money in before they did they would go to me & I could pay the other 1/2 once they arrived. No thanks.

I ended up going with Puppyfind.com, had very helpful hints about buying online. Also noticed that MANY of the pictures used on oodles were from dogs being sold elsewhere (ligitamitely).

Reason of review: Fraud.

Preferred solution: If can't verify sellers post information to educate buyers.

Location: Portland, Oregon

This was very helpful. I just inquired on s puppy and I received an email with this sob story full of BS.

The red flag was the moment I read the sentence my wife died 3 weeks ago and they were with her always...... I laughed and deleted the email.

Thank you for this! I want a puppy but oodle seems like an awful scam.

Where can I legitimately get one?

Are there any trustworthy sites or places i could look? I feel like i have searched everywhere?

The safest is to contact an actual breeder but who can afford 2,500 a pup? i wish i could

Guest

yes we are looking for pups too and i ran into that. Misspelling and improper grammar are also ways to tell.

Seller said just moved to New York due to job and the red flag went up. I never knew trying to find a buddy to bring home to the family was such a challenge!

Watch out for scammers! Anything that is too good to be true usually is and anything that looks fishy in the text or wording is most likely a scam.

Dont trust oodle sellers or oodle sites because the site is promoting scams and will leave them up even after reported to allow others to be taken for their hard earned money . Oodle you suxk for allowing these operations to continue
